Frequently Asked Questions
On this page we will attempt to answer some of the questions our customers ask before they make a booking.
1. How private are our rooms?
The downstairs area is private and separate in that we don't use this floor at all when we have guests. In the Homestay, we live upstairs and the downstairs floor is entirely for your use while staying with us - you don't have to share it with other guests either, since we can only have one party at a time. We have our own entrance at the back of the house that leads into the upstairs area. The closest we will get to the downstairs area is walking up the path along the side of the house. There is, of course, a flight of stairs that connects downstairs with upstairs, but it's closed off with a set of semi-French doors.
2. No breakfast?
No, sorry. For the money we'd have to ask to make this somewhat profitable, you can have a good breakfast at one of the many good cafés and restaurants close by.
3. You mention steps. How many do we have to climb?
As stated on our site, the main house is located on a hill, with wide steps leading up to it. It's an gradual ascend with a total of 41 easy steps (counting from the road), with some sloping pathways in between. The Garden Studio adds another 10 or so steps as it is in the back (and top!) of the garden. It might pose a challenge for prams and people that have walking difficulties.
It will increase your fitness level!
4. Can I bring my kids?
Of course you can! We are a family-friendly homestay and we'll have a portacot available for the little ones. We also have a range of board games, TV, DVD player and a computer to entertain the older children.
5. We are a same-sex couple. Can we sleep together?
Of course you can! We respect people's rights and individual choices. We would not want to be forced to sleep separate either when away from home.
6. Where can I park my car?
Ashleigh Crescent is a cul-de-sac (dead-end road) and you can park your car on the road near the end, close to where you see two single garages with the number '34' in between. Parking is free and there is usually plenty of space available.
